Elected School Board?
Virginians would have a chance to vote on whether to elected their local school boards, if the Assembly passed one of two bills proposed this year that seek such a referendum.
For the ninth year, Del. David G. Brickley (DPrince William) introduced the legislation, which also was introduced by Del. Frank Medico (R-Alexandria).
Sen. Charles L. Waddell (D-Loudoun/Fairfax) signed onto both bills, even though the Loudoun school board opposes it adamantly, and Dels. Raymond R. “Andy” Guest (R-Fauquier/Rapppahannock/Clai*ke/Warren) and Thomas B. Moncure Jr. (RFauquier/Stafford) also signed onto the Brickley bill.
“I’m going to keep on putting that bill in until it finally passes,” Brickley vowed.
