A fall outing to a pumpkin farm jjs a wonderful experience, for the chil: dren. YDACS published its first - pumpkin guide last year. Response was excellent with a large number of the requests coming from schools and daycare centers.
Most of the listers in the 1987 Virginia Pumpkin Guide encourage school groups to come tour their farms and pick pumpkins for Halloween.
The guide lists 19 locations around the state. In addition to more than 200 acres of pumpkins, many
farms also have Indian com and j gourds to complete your fall decorat- i ing. Apples, cider and other prod- ! ucts are available at some locations. )
For the children, the guide has a j Pumpkin I.Q. test and a pumpkin il- < lustration for designing their own j jack-o-lantems. !
