Bush meeting
Delegate Raymond R. (Andy) Guest Jr. (R-31) attended a briefing and strategy session at Kennebunkport, Maine, last month to discuss Vice President Bush’s upcoming campaign for the Presidency of the United States. Present at the meeting, in addition to the Vice President, were his key campaign staff • and selected representatives from the southern states.
Strategy was discussed for the upcoming southern primaries, also known as “Super Tuesday.” Mr. Guest, who is Minority Leader of the Virginia House of Delegates, presented his views for the campaign, ad did other members of the southern delegation.
After the strategy discussions, Vice President and Mrs. Bush entertained the southern delegation and key campaign personnel at their home with a luncheon.
Following the meeting, Mr. Guest said, “Vice President Bush, is very much in tune with the philosophy of Virginians and never before* has a candidate so well qualified offered for election. I will be happy and honored to give what aid I can to this campaign at this most critical time in Virginia’s history.”
