She was a retired domestic worker and a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Woodville. She attended St. John Baptist Church in Alexandria.
Survivors include her husband Linwood Richard of Alexandria, a daughter Mrs. Ruth Jeffries of Baltimore, four sisters, Mrs. Zephyr Glasker of Woodville, Mrs. Mandy Harrison of Arlington, Mrs. Ida Jackson and Mrs. Luvenia Carpenter of Culpeper, a brother Levi Jackson of Linwood, N.Y., five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sept. 26 at the Shiloh Baptist Church at Woodville by the Rev. George 0. Dean of Front Royal. Interment was at the family section of the church cemetery.
Charles Sours
Charles Moore Sours, 78, of Gainesville, Ga., died Sept. 29 at his home.
Mr. Sours was born July 24, 1909, in Flint Hill, the sop of the late John W. and Marie Moore Sours.
A long-time resident of New York City and New Jersey, he was a retired administrator of Hunter College in New York. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Gainesville.
Surviving are his wife Rosalind Tucker Sours, three daughters, Alice Spivey of Stone Mountain, Ga., Leelee Lindsley of Atlanta, Ga., and Betty Calder of Decatur, Ga., and six grandchildren.
