Members of the Amissville squad will offer free blood pressure checks to all who visit.
Among the demonstrations will be fire extinguishers and smoke alarms. The company has accumulated a variety of both devices, and, since some are designed for special purposes, they will advise visitors on the best type for specific uses. Fire extinguishers and smoke alarms will also be available for sale.
There will also be members who will explain Operation EDITH, a program designed to allow every family to devise an escape procedure in the event of fire.
For the kids, there will be balloons and fire prevention coloring books, and Smokey the Bear will visit from 2:30-3 p.m. There will be movies for both children and adults all afternoon, free hot dogs and sodas, and door prizes for some lucky visitors.
And the department will also have a table set up for recruitment of, new members.
