Our fall training sessions commence on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Orange County Nursing Home, and meet twice weekly, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Graduation will be held on Nov. 11 during the annual meeting of the Hospice.

The training sessions will include movies, instruction by experts in the fields of perspectives on dying, communication skills, family dynamics, comfort measures, and grieving in bereavement as well as a tour of a local funeral home and a visit with one of our clients.

As Hospice volunteers we provide supplementary care to the primary caregiver, the family. Our goals include helping the terminally U1 person to live life to the fullest and to die with dignity within the home environment, providing the family members with back-up support, and
