Celebrate the magic in all of us

According to an old tradition, the halfway point between winter and spring is a good time for a celebration of the magic in all of us. So, on Jan. 30 all are invited to gather for a community potluck supper and circle of creative sharing at 7 p.m. at the Middle Street Gallery in Washington. Scheduled performances include an incredible candle dance by Anthea. Mark Kolack will also perform, as well as poet Lynn Martin and cosmic comic Lolly Lune from Neptune. Anyone who would like to share their talents or inspirational messages with us is invited to do so. Call Spirit Arts, 675-3120 or 675-3649 for further information.

Gallery to rock ’n’ roll Feb. 5

Dress up for a Golden Oldies 50s rock ’n’ roll party at Middle Street Gallery in Washington on Friday, Feb. 5, at 8:30.

The Valentine party will feature the romantic color red, jitterbug, totally sentimental gifts and new work by gallery artists. The event celebrates the opening of the Cooperative’s “Art Shop,” a new section dedicated to small items made with big imagination - one-of-a-kind cards, prints, pots, artists’ books, handmade paper, baskets, etc. Admission to the party is $3.

Valentine’s wares and new work will be on display through Feb. 14. Gallery hours are from 11 to 6 Friday, Saturday and Sunday and by appointment. Call 675-3440. And don't forget - pony tails, bobby socks and Brylcream on Friday the 5th.
