However, to qualify for any delegates, each candidate must receive at least 15 percent of the Super Tuesday primary vote in each congressional district (Rappahannock is in the Seventh Congressional District) or in the state as a whole.
Forty-nine of the state’s delegates will be chosen at the congressional district , conventions, scheduled for May, and the rest will be chosen at the state convention which will be held in June.
Both the size of the vote and the trends which‘the voters indicate in terms of their primary choices are important to the presidential candidates.
