Writing something for publication after listening to James J. Kilpatrick speak on “The Art of Writing” is akin to shooting oneself in the foot. Disregarding style, vocabulary, meter, rhythm, etc., Mr. Kilpatrick did say that the first rule of writing is to have something to say.
That I can manage, to wit, an update on the impending visit of 10 Russian citizens to Rappahannock County.
The Center for Soviet-American Dialogue, which is sponsoring the visit of the 100 Soviet citizens to the Citizens’ Summit, to be held in Washington, D. C., Feb. 1-5, reported that clearance has been granted to 10 of the visitors to spend time in Rappahannock County prior to the summit.
The group will arrive by Aeroflot on Tuesday, Jan. 26. Instead of coming directly to Rappahannock, the visitors will be given a one-dav orientation in Washington on Wednesday.
