oixieen waxeneld Yth graders, a record number for the school, have qualified to participate in this year’s Johns Hopkins Talent Search Program, a nationwide effort to identify those early students who are specially gifted in mathematical and verbal skills.
The 7th graders in the program will take the SATs of the College Board Examinations this Saturday, three-hour tests that are normally not taken by students until their junior and senior years.
For those 7th graders who score above the national average for college-bound seniors, there are special prizes and awards, including scholarships to summer programs run by Johns Hopkins University.
