NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, on Wednesday, September 14, 1988 at 8:00 p.m. in the Courtroom of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County in Washington, Virginia, the Town Council of the Town of Washington, Virginia and the Planning Commission of the Town of Washington, Virginia will hold a joint public hearing pursuant to Section 15.1-431 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, for the purpose of considering public imput regarding proposed amendments to the Town of Washington Zoning Ordinance and to the Town of Washington Historic District Ordinance.
A summary of the proposed amendments to be considered at the joint publice hearing are as follows:
1. Amend the Town of Washington Zoning Ordinance to define offices, business offices, government officies, and professional officies, and amend the Zoning Ordinance to provide that government offices shall only be allowed in Village Services zoning districts. •
2. Amend the Twon of Washington Historic District Ordinance to incorporate the definitions set out in the Zoning Ordinance as definitions to be considered in interpreting the Historic District Ordinance, and to establish that original painting of a structure, or a change in the color or external finish of a structure in the Twon is a matter within the jurisdiction of the Architectural Review Board.
All persons who are interested in said proposed amendments are invited to attend and to present their views. Copies of the exact wording of the proposed amendments are available for review by the public in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County in Washington, Virginia and in the Zoning Administrator’s Office during normal business hours.
