Dugan rode a gutsy race, according to spectators.

When we jumped the last fence, I just scooted to the inside of her and going down that comer, I really asked him to run. I was glad he made a move fast enough so he didn’t get smooched in the rail,” said Dugan.

In the first division of the maiden hurdle race, Peter Walsh unleashed the Payne-trained Miss Muskoka down the stretch, flying by Tell it Twice with Graham Alcock and front-runner Forty Dancers with Bay Cockbum.
Tell It Twice came on strong to pass Forty Dancers down the stretch, but Miss Muskoka proved a length faster at the wire.
Don Yovanovich on last week’s hurdle winner Paragrefo posed no threat since the rider missed a beacon coming off the hill.
