The supervisors also passed a resolution asking Commonwealth Attorney Peter Luke to draft an ordinance to enforce motor vehicle ordinances on several private roads in Blue Ridge Mountain Estates.
Arthur Town spoke in favor of this enforcement. “We have a lot of people get up there and drive around especially with four-wheel drives,” he said.
Donna Schwertfeger, the president of the homeowners association said, “We have a lot of unnecessary noise and destruction on those privately maintained roads. In many cases I’m the law and order up there. We should give the taxpaying residents up there the luxury of some law and order.”

Susan Parrish and Arthur Neufeld are all seeking their first elected post in the town government.
Janice Moffett and Charles Eldred round out the field of candidates for the town council. Mrs. Moffett had sought an appointment to the council last year when Mr. Lynch was named to the vacancy. Mr. Eldred is a member of the town’s moribund Board of Zoning Appeals.
All the declared candidates must file a second form certifying their qualifications for candidacy with the State Board of Elections in Richmond by 5 p.m. Friday, March 9. Two additional forms, supporting petitions and a financial disclosure form, are not required.
