If this terrible thin£ could happen, then what? Do we build a larger “sub-surface disposal system?” At whose cost? Will this increase taxes and property values, which in turn will increase other taxes? Those of us living on fixed incomes must know. Has the town council appointed anyone to investigate the health and environmental impact of these plans? Can we as a town afford an unbiased study as to the effects of such a plan? If not, where do we turn?
In closing, I would like to express my pride, the concern and support of our community and indeed the surrounding residents of Rappahannock County in dealing with this matter. I hope we will be able to lay aside any personal differences and deal with the issues at hand, to see to it that we, the residents, and not outsiders will control the future of “The First Washington.”
