Williams attended
youth conference
Gregory Williams, representing Rappahannock County 4-H Clubs, attended the Virginia Council of Fanners Cooperatives Youth Conference on June 28-30.
During this conference, he learned how and why coops were established. He learned why a coop is a more effective business than forprofit ones. Attending the conference were close to 80 teenagers plus speakers.
The conference was graciously held by Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Graves at Graves Mountain Lodge in Madison County. Everyone received plenty of good food, enjoyed the recreation and learned a great deal about how a cooperative business helps the farms in this country.
Southern States and Farm Credit, along with other coops in Virginia, sponsored this event. A special thank you is extended to the Culpeper Farmers’ Coop for sponsoring Gregory Williams as a delegate from Rappahannock County.
Gregory is the son of Tommy and Bonnie Williams of Flint Hill.
