Thanks from
Auxiliary
To the Editor:
The Washington Ladies Auxiliary would like to thank all the people who made a donation of baked goods or money for the 4th of July.
The Auxiliary has paid the balance of $10,800 that was due on the firehouse - this brings the total to $23,304.51, that they have paid on the building. They have purchased chairs, tables, doors and paid a note on a vehicle, $10,808.55. Your donations to the thrift shop, time and money has made this possible and the Auxiliary would like to thank you very much.

Thanks from
fire department
To the Editor:
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank each and every business, organization, and individual who participated in or supported the 4th of July celebration in Washington. Without the assistance of each and every one of you, the Fire Department and the Town of Washington could not present the activities that make this celebration of our independence the best this side of the Blue Ridge.
If you/have ideas, for activities that would-make next year a better celebration, please drop a note to the Fire Department and we will attempt to incorporate your ideas. Thank you again for your help and we look forward to seeing you again next year for a happy and exciting Fourth of July!
