The Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals unanimously approved a special use permit for Susan Hoffman to run a bed and breakfast at Belle Meade Farm on Rt. 231 south of Sperryville.
Ms. Hoffman has also applied for a special exception to operate a day camp at the farm during the summer. The Board of Supervisors is to consider that application next week.
Ms. Hoffman said she plans to have five bedrooms available for guests. Four would be in the house and one in a guest cottage.
She said, “I am looking at the bed and breakfast for the fall, winter and spring, and the day camp in the summer.” She does not plan to have both operations going on at the same time. When asked by one of the members of the BZA if she would have parents of campers stay in the bed and breakfast at the same time, she adamantly replied, “No.”
