Cbach Leake said, “Willie Eastham and Jason Carter were our defensive leaders the entire season. Willie sacrificed himself to take charges in the last four or five games.
“Jason Carter missed the first five games due to an injury. His return was as big a lift to the team as anything. He provided leadership and was a real motivator on the team. His nickname is ‘bear’,” said Coach Leake.
Coach Leake added, “Lee Freeman played a very consistent year. He really works hard in the off season too. Mark Jenkins, Eric Smith and James Jenkins all contributed, a very important role in the last few weeks.”
Two-thirds of the JV team will have the opportunity to try out for varsity next season. “The next few years should be real top programs,” said Coach Leake.
