On the bus on the way home from losing to Central in the junior varsity basketball tournament last Friday night, the team members said "Next year that is going to be us.”
The junior varsity panthers were defeated by Central 50-43. “Our goal was to finish in the top two this season, and we did. They worked toward that goal the entire season, and stayed focussed for each game. I am real proud of what they accomplished,” said Coach Gary Leake.
The JV team finished the season with 15 wins and five losses.
The JV beat B rents ville 30-29 last Thursday. This allowed them to advance to the'finals on Friday. Jon Butler was the leading scorer in the game Thursday, and he and Jeff Atkins were shared as leading scorers. in the game against Central. Coach Leake said, “Although the Central game was lost that was not an indication of the season. Of the 24 minute game, we won 20 minutes of it.

Mark your calendars for: Lights? Action! Camera! Let’s make movies!
Ki Theatre will be holding its Second annual Summer Program for Youth on July 18-30. The program this summer will involve participants ages 11-18.
The program will engage participants in the process of making their own video moves. They will learn about aspects and skills of television and filmmaking including: script writing, acting, composing the “storyboard,” camera work, and editing while creating their own TV “shorts.”
Ki Theatre hopes this will be a creative, dynamic and educational session!
