Principal John Toth presented medals to the valedictorian and salutatorian. He also recognized graduate Sherry Thoman who only missed one day of school from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
He presented the principal’s scholarship for one year of tuition at Lord Fairfax Community College worth approximately $1,300 to Sherry Jo Shaw. .) Dr. Gangel gave the Faith Mountain Scholarship for $1,000 next year and $1,000 for the second year of college if grades hold up to Joey Dunagan. He noted that Joey was the “only student who ever called me at home to discuss School Board policy.”
Dr. Gangel also presented academic hoods to several teachers who earned masters’ degrees during the past year. Frieda Herman, Janet Long, Lucy Maeyer, Pam Roszak, and Nina Norman received the hoods. Dr. Gangel also presented a hood to Robert Chappell, who earned a doctorate in educational administration this year.
