The Rappahannock Monarchs won the front end of the double header Sunday against Woodstock.
The Monarchs were highlighted with a fine pitching performance by Leory North. He pitched the whole seven innings and then two extra innings to pick up the win, defeating Woodstock 4 to 3. Leroy walked five and struck out nine. Reggie Williams led Rappahannock at the plate with two singles and a double.
In the final game Woodstock defeated Rappahannock 11 to 7. David Clanagan led Rappahannock at the * plate with a double and two singles and Vincent (Pops) Aylor added a grand slam homerun.
