The “People’s Choice” trophy was won by Sophie Massie, and the “Family Trophy” was won by the De Groot family from Washington, D.C.
Plans for the second annual Ben Venue Kite Festival will begin soon.
The season at the Theatre in Washington was launched with the Maryland Repertory Theatre’s production of Neil Simon’s “Broadway Bound” Saturday evening. The theatre had nearly a full house.
A cast member was missing and the show’s producer stepped in and performed reading from a script. The audience particularly enjoyed his performance.
Weekend events also included the beginning of the youth football and soccer seasons, a junior tennis tournament for those 12 and younger, a church bazaar and yard said and a dance in Amissville.
