knew that any government could be tempted to seize more power than assigned or misuse the power it had. They designed the first republic of its kind with separate, co-equal branches allowing checks and balances on the exercise of government power. Their efforts resulted in a document that has worked for over two centuries and stands as a model for millions who treasure freedom.
So next week we celebrate the preservation and perseverance of our United States Constitution. Its very words have kept it alive and have allowed our nation to grow and develop into a world power. On this anniversary let us celebrate and be grateful for the words that guarantee and protect our freedom.
