Pearl Mickey
Pearl Olivia Pendleton Mickey, 55, of Brandy Station, died Wednesday, Sept. 7 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.
She was a native of Rappahannock County.
She was a meat cutter for retail stores. .
Survivors include her husband, James Edward Mickey; one son, Larry Mickey; two granddaughters; four sister, Katie, Doris, Betty and Pauline; three brothers, Mitchell, James and David; two aunts, two uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Brandy Station on Monday, Sept. 12 with the Rev. Joe Ruffin of Culpeper officiating.
Interment was in Culpeper National Cemetery.
W.C. Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Edley Smoot
Edley Smoot, 83, of Front Royal, died Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Sept. 13 at Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Jerry Young.
Burial was in Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.
Mr. Smoot was born Dec. 19, 1910, in Rappahannock County, son of the late Spenser and Sarah Lucy Riley Smoot.
He was a retired production worker for the Jackson Furniture Company.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys Riley Smoot of Front Royal; two sons, Walter A. Smoot and Robert L. Smoot, both of Front Royal; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Keith Dawson, Barry Kidwell, Bobby Frye, Timmy Sisk, Tommy Dawson and Billy Rickey. 1
Honorary pallbearers were Ott Baker, Staurt Rudacille, Eddie Poe, Jake Sisk, Irvin Rinker and Charles Lake.
