County Librarian Nicki Lynch is resigning to accept a position as director of the Rockingham Regional Library in Harrisonburg. She will remain on the job in Rappahannock County through November if necessary.
At a meeting Tuesday Roberta Anderson, chairman of the Library Board’s personnel committee, said, “We regret losing her but we’re thrilled with the substantial promotion this job represents. We were fortunate to have Mrs. Lynch for the past almost three and a half years during a crucial time for the Rappahannock County Library.
“Her accomplishments have been substantial,” Mrs. Anderson continued. “We have a fully operational computerized system including an on-line catalog and computerized circulation. We have received several worthwhile grants due to Mrs. Lynch’s efforts. We’ve come a long way.”
Mrs. Lynch got a grant from the state library to develop the on-line catalog, and the Friends of the Rappahannock Library contributed the computerized circulation system.
