Rappahannock Neva Contributing Writer 1 Sunday afternoon Sam and Wanda Snead hosted at their home, Hillcrest, a birthday party picnic for the Snead family members having birthdays in September.
In a revival of an old family tradition, after lunch the first annual handicapped Hillcrest Mixed Doubles Croquet Tournament was held with 20 players participating on three courts. The winners were Mary Gardener Edmonds of Huntly and Lewis Snead of Lynchburg. Runnersup were Lois Snead and R.V. Snead, Jr.
