Homecoming, Revival Planned Homecoming is planned at Amissville United Methodist Church on Sunday, Sept. 18 in the Social Hall while the Sanctuary is being restored. Sunday school meets at 9:45 a.m. and is followed by the worship service at 11 a.m. After worship there will be a tour of this historic Church as restoration is in progress. Following this we will goto the Amiss ville Fire Hall for a covered dish luncheon. Please take your food there before church worship. The guest speaker will be Rev. Steven D. Parker, former pastor from 1982-1990. He also served JefTersonton UMC from 1982-1984. Rev. Parker is in his fifth year at the Amelia Charge in the Farm ville District. He and his wife Sandra have two grown children, Dwight and Suzanne who grew up in this area. Rev. Parker made many friends during his eight years here. On Sunday evening, he will preach at 7:30 p.m. in the Social Hall thus beginning three nights of revival, Sept. 18-20. There will be special music each evening. Refreshments will follow the Monday and Tuesday evening services. The Rev. Nancy B. White and the congregation invite freinds and those in the wider community to attend.

Missions Conference Set Washington Baptist Church is taking part in World Missions Conference Sept. 22-25. On Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Darwin C. Sokoken, a mission pastor serving in a Filipino Church in Chicago, Illinois will speak. On Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Tami Ruckman, a missionary serving as Director of the Savannah Baptist Center in Savannah, Georgia will speak. On Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Linda Boswell is a Southern Baptist Missionary to Peru and will speak. Dr. Hugh McKinley is a Southern Baptist Missionary to Zimbabwe will speak at the 11 a.m. service on Sept. 25 and at 7:30 p.m. John E. Enos, a Southern Baptist Missionary to The Gambia will speak. i

Missionaries at Slate Mills The Slate Mills Baptist Church in Boston will be observing World Missions Conference of the Shiloh Baptist Association, Sept. 18-21. “We will be having missionaries from the Foreign, Home and State Missions. They will be sharing their experiences with film and other articles of their work on the mission field. We cordially invite the public to worship with us and share the blessings of our lord,” said a spokesperson. Following the morning services a covered dish dinner will be served. Nightly services begin at 7:30 p.m.
