Letters have gone out to postal patrons of Amissville, Viewtown, Castleton, Woodville, Boston and Chester Gap. Sperryville, Washington, Flint Hill and Huntly residents will get letters in December.

Once everyone has been notified of their address, it will still be necessary to switch the system on. For that to happen Bell Atlantic and Sprint/Centel must cooperate. Mr. McCarthy is becoming somewhat exasperated with the companies.- He noted that Centel is the company taking the lead since it serves the county seat and approximately half the homes in the county. Bell Atlantic finds itself in the situation of being the junior partner for Rappahannock’s system. That is something new to the company, Mr. McCarthy said.

He said he hopes the system will be switched on in January but fears it may be February or even March before that happens.
