E.S. Houghton
Earl Smith Houghton, 86, of Front Royal, died Sunday, Nov. 20 at his home.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at Maddox Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Young.
Interment followed in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Houghton was bom Nov. 19, 1908, in Rappahannock County, son of Edward and Cora Lee Huff Houghton.
He was a retired mechanic with the American Viscose Corporation where he worked for 37 years. He was a member of the AARP and was married to the late Helen Louise Houghton.
Surviving is a nephew, Edward Thomas Houghton and a greatnephew, Chris Houghton, both of Atlanta, Ga.
Pallbearers were Bobby Pingley, Jack Pingley, Jeff Pingley, Billy Joe Pingley, Chris Houghton and Buddy Devers.
Gilbert Dennis
Gilbert Hopkins (Huck) Dennis, 77, of Amissville died on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton. I A native of Huntly, he was the son of the late Peter D. and Myrtle Tobin Dennis.
He was an automotive mechanic and a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jamesley Luttrell Dennis; a daughter and son-in-law, Landra and Joel E. Grizzle of Manassas; three grandchildren, Jo Ann Baird of Haymarket, Kelly Woods of Pine Bluff, Ark. and Joel E. (Eddie) Grizzle, II of Manassas and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, William C. (Pete) Dennis of Jackson, S.C. and Cooper Dennis of Church Hill, Tenn. and two sisters, Stella Johnson of Luray and Thelma Russell of Culpeper.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James E. Dennis and a sister, Mallie Dennis.
