the high school booster club will have a bake sale in front of the Washington Post Office starting at 8:30 a.m. Also, the Child Care and Learning Center is having a Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be a children’s shopping room and “jingle rides” and pictures with Santa. Baked goods and craft sales will also be an important part of this event. A “Yo Yo” quilt will be raffled off.
Spring Mountain School has changed its Christmas Bazaar to Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Ac- 1 tivities include the lighting of the Advent Garden with music by Lorraine Duisit at 1 p.m., storytelling at 11 and 11:30 a.m., noon and 12:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., children’s craftmaking from 2 to 3 p.m., Christmas Card and Wrap Making with Laurie Marshall from 3 to 5 p.m. and a pie and cake Auction at 1:30 p.m. There will be gifts for sale particularly suitable for children.
Shops in town will be open and done up in holiday finery. A large variety of items suitable for giving or keeping will be offered for sale.
The Middle Street Gallery’s Christmas show opens this weekend. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is an opportunity to find one of a kind art and craft pieces, according to Gallery founder Dan Lewis. The show offers artwork in all price ranges, from handmade Christmas ornaments to jewelry to sculpture to paintings. “You could conceivably do all your shopping at this one show,” says show coordinator Sally Walker.
The festivities will conclude with a bonfire and community carol sing Sunday evening weather permitting.
