Exceptions are roads less than one mile long which enter the county from Culpeper and Fauquier counties. In those cases the numbering system started in the neighboring county continues into Rappahannock. That is also the case for Crest Hill Road which runs for more than one mile from Fauquier County to Flint Hill, he said.
The Sperryville Pike is numbered from Sperryville to the Culpeper County line, and U.S. 211, Lee Highway, is numbered from the park boundary to the county line. As one travels from lower to higher numbers the odd numbers are on the left and the even numbers are on the right, he said.
