The Rappahannock County Education Association presented a list of requests to the School Board Tuesday night that included increased space at the high school, a school nurse split between the two schools, and raises.
High school math teacher Janet Long said with the addition complete for the elementary school, more space is needed at the high school so more courses can be taught. She said RCEA had polled members and non-members on the faculties of both schools in developing the list.
She requested a 5 percent salary increase in the next budget, saying that Rappahannock is approximately 5 percent below the state average. The teach- ' ers also requested additional funds for field trips and for teachers attending professional conferences. Mrs. Long said that funds now available for that cover only about 25 percent of the cost.
