Shenandoah National Park officials have scheduled a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at the Rappahannock Cdunty Library.
“This will give Park neighbors and visitors an opportunity to advise and assist us as we continue to seek solutions to the problems in the Old Rag Mountain area,” said Shenandoah National park Superintendent Bill Wade.” I encourage you to attend and discuss your ideas and concerns with me and with others members of the Park staff.”
Old Rag Mountain, located on the east side of Shenandoah National Park in Madison County, has become a popular hiking destination. The Old Rag area receives around 10,000 visitors per year, more than 75 percent of whom enter the Park form Weakley Hollow on State Route 600.
