Tickets may be purchased the day of the event. A wheelchair 1 accessible van will be available. A special guided hike will leave from the visitor center each day; participants are encouraged to wear proper footgear for a two-mile hike.
Camp Hoover had its beginning in 1929. Herbert Hoover purchased land in the Blue Ridge Mountains to create a “Presidential hide-away” amid tall hemlocks and mountain streams.
When he left office in 1933, Hoover donated the land and cabins to the newly created Shenandoah National Park.
