Camp Hoover, the mountain retreat of President Herbert Hoover, will be open to tl>e public Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 12 and 13.
“Hoover Days” is an annual event in Shenandoah National Park, held on the weekend closest to the former-President’s Aug. 10 birthday.
National Park Service rangers and volunteers will give public tours both days. • Visitors can explore the President’s and the Prime Minister’s Cabins. The grounds and trails surrounding the camp are delightful for walking and picnicking.
Cold drinks and sandwiches will be available for purchase at the camp. Visitors may also bring refreshments with them.
