Congressman Frank Wolf, R-lOth District, predicts the budget impasse in Congress will be over by Christmas.
In an interview at the Rappahannock Sews Monday Rep. Woll said the two sides are negotiating behind the scenes and they are closer together than their public comments indicate.
With President Clinton planning to travel to Europe Wednesday, Rep. Wolf does not expect the process to be finished by Friday when the continuing resolution that has allowed the government to remain open expires. However, Rep. Wolf thinks another continuing resolution will allow the government to remain open another week, through Dec. 22. He expects that extension to lead to a resolution of remaining issues so that a budget can be adopted by Christmas, or at a minimum a framework for the solution to be in place so the budget can
