Higher Bail Set

When Karen A. Lundregan didn't show up in court on Nov. 2 for her trial on charges of fraud and uttering, a eapias was issued for her arrest.
A courtroom full of people, including attorneys, six witnesses for the Commonwealth, the judge, the clerk of the court, and others, were there for a trial that couldn't take place without the 35 year-old defendant, Ms. Lundregan.
She was in court with her lawyer. Philip C. Sessoms, Sr. last Thursday for a bond hearing and to explain why she wasn’t present for her scheduled trial. Because her address had changed twice since her indictment last March and she had not notified the court, which is a condition of being on bond, she had not been picked up on the capias because it had her address as being in Maryland. She said she now resides in Falls Church with her husband. She turned herself in at the Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning before court. •
Mr. Sessoms said that his client told him that she was in a hospital the morning of the scheduled trial from 3 a.m. to about 7 a.m. She said that she was treated for a concussion which she received in a domestic incident in which she was trying to help someone else, and had called her counselor, who
