A 16 year-old female from Sperryville was charged with reckless driving for an accident which took place the afternoon of Dec. 4 on U.S. 211 1/2 miles east of Route 683.

According to Trooper Hawkins of the State Police, the girl was driving eastbound on U.S. 211 in a 1988 Chevy when she changed lanes, cutting in front of a 1975 Ford UPS truck driven by George Glass Rust, Jr., 22, of Stephens City. Both vehicles appeared to have gone out of control, and the girl’s vehicle struck guard rails on both sides of the road. Her car sustained $3,500 damage and the UPS truck was damaged in the amount of $1,000. No injuries were reported.
