The Virginia Department of Forestry recently purchased a new bulldozer/fire-plow unit, complete with a new transport, to be used for forest fire suppression and forest management work in Rappahannock County. This unit will be stationed at the VDOT headquarters in Washington.
The tractor is a John Deere 450GLT, specially equipped for firefighting, with a blade that, in addition to angling and tilting, transforms into a V-blade for pushing fire lines through thick brush.
