He was a retired farmer, business-; man and owner of Hampton Inn in' Washington for 32 years.
Mr. Wharton was a member of Washington Baptist Church. He! served in the United States Arrrjy,! World War II. He was a charter life! member of the Rappahannock Lion’s, Club. J
He is survived by his wife,] Rosalie A. Wharton of Washington; and Waynesboro, Pa., a step-son.; Llovd Cowne of Manassas; a brother,' B.B. Wharton of Falls Church; two' sisters, Rachel Frazier of Fairfax and ! Mary Groves of Remington; three” step grandchildren and five step great* grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first! wife, Christine Virginia Wharton and! two sisters, Eunice Sisk and Susan; Brown. . *
Funeral services will be held at 2! p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14 af Washington Baptist Church with Rev.' John Burke. Interment will be in, Washington Masonic Cemetery with full military honors. ;
Pallbearers will be Bart Cowne.* Steven Cowne, Michael Brown,; Nelson Nethers, William Smoot, Joe; Addlesberger and Dan S. Price, Jr.
The family will receive friends; Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper.
