Last week’s story about Virginia State Police checkpoints and traffic stops stated that Trooper C.A. Moore could not be reached for comment.
Trooper Moore was in Richmond for a two-week training assignment, and he contacted the newspaper after he returned this week.
In response to the allegations made in the story, Trooper Moore said that although he was present at the Sept. 30 sobriety checkpoint on U.S. 211, he was not the trooper responsible for detaining Mr. Sisk, nor was he involved in the check of Mr. Sisk’s truck by the state police drug dog.
In addition, Trooper Moore is not the unidentified state trooper who was alleged to have stopped a young woman numerous times during a two-year period.
