NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE TOWN BUDGET

(General Fund And Water System)

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Town Council of the Town of Washington, Virginia will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, January 10, 1996 at 730 o'clock PM in the Town Hall on Gay Street in Washington, Virginia for the purpose of considering proposed changes to the Town's present Budget for both the General Budget and the Water System Budget.

Any citizen wishing to make their views known are invited to attend the Public Hearing and participate.

The proposed Budget changes are as follows: Town: 1. Addition of $20,000 to Income transferred from Town Retained Earnings; 2. Addition of $3,000 Adelphia Cable Franchise Tax to Income (received $3,056.93); 3. Transfer from Capital Reserves: Replacement of Assets to Administration: Office FF St E (Furniture, Fixture & Equipment) in the following amounts, NOT TO EXCEED:

Printer -$400

Rental of copier - $150/month (6 months-$900)

Computer and necessary software - $3,200 »

(rent or buy - to be determined) 4. Transfer from General Fund to Administration: Professional the amount of $4,400 to cover additional survey expenses. 5. Transfer of $350 from General Fund to Contributions: Celebrations: July 4th for Pyrotechnidan; 6. Transfer of $1,350 from General Fund to Contributions: Town Brochure; 7. Addition of $10,000 to Capital Expenses: Street Lights; 8. Addition of $10,000 for Water System Capital Reserves (for emergency repairs if needed); 9. Transfer from General Fund to Administration: $3,000 - refund of overpayment of Bank Franchise Tax. Water System; 1. Addition of $6,700 to Income to cover FEMA contributions (received $6,719); 2. Addition of $1,000 to Income from Town Retained Earnings to cover maintenance; 3. Addition of $2,100 to Capital Reserves: Replacement of Assets to restore it to the original budgeted amount; 4. Addition of $1,000 to Maintenance for the flood damage; 5. Addition of $1,000 to Maintenance for the Transmission Lines;
