It is hard to believe that another year is quickly coming to a close, but it is, and as it does I didn’t want it to go and another to come without saying thanks again to the many wonderful volunteers that we have serving our community, especially the fine folks that serve our library. I know that I have said this before, but it is certainly true, we couldn’t do it without you.
Your help is invaluable, and to my cookie baking friend, your cookies are too.

The recognition given to senior citizens who serve as volunteer workers at Rappahannock elementary and high schools in the Dec. 6th issue of the Rappahannock News was welcome news, well deserved and well done.
I would just like to add that these same men and women are members of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and many serve our community at more than just one site/public agency and thus benefit our citizenry in many ways.
As volunteer coordinator of the RSVP program in Rappahannock County, I’m pleased and proud to report Rappahannock has 55 currently active RSVP volunteers donating their time and talents in 18 locations.
The RSVP program is a part of National Senior Service Corps and locally sponsored by the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board. I urge anyone under or over age 55 wishing to volunteer in our county to call me at 675-3329 about volunteer opportunities and benefits and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.
