“looking better.” One of his players is a sophomore. The rest are eighth graders. “Our purpose is to get playing time together,” he said. “Some will go on to varsity next year. Some will have a second year of JV.”
He said five of his players have played together on a Culpeper travel team and will be playing on that team also this spring. Others will play on other travel teams.
He said they had a scrimmage with the varsity last week and “got shellacked. Some of these kids had never seen speed coming at them like that.” In spite of that they scored two goals on the varsity.
