Mr. Clark said, “You do what you have to do but I, for one, am fed up with rules and regulations and I think a lot of people feel the same way.”
Commissioner Dave Fannon said he thinks all the controversy over the issue has created a better awareness about possible future development in the county.
Marc Malik, president of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, said, “The actual acreage for mountain top land (land on the very tops of the mountains) is only 500 acres. The majority of homes would probably be built on the slopes.” He also said the replanting of trees would best be done with trees of about an inch in height. Mr. Clark agreed with that assessment.
The proposal will be discussed at next weeks Planning Commission meeting.
