With local attorney and Headwaters board member Doug Baumgardner as moderator, speakers will focus on four general themes: “Everyone Wins — Volunteering in the Schools” with Judy Tale, local volunteer; “The Promise and the Challenge — the Work of Local Education Foundations in Rural Communities,” led by Michelle Hynes, from the Public Education Network in Washington, D.C.; “Past Success/Future Vision — Rappahannock County’s Public Schools” led by Mary Anne Biggs, assistant superintendent; and finally, “Supplemental Public School Funding: The Handley Endowment Example” led by Glen Burdick, superintendent, Winchester City Schools.
Headwaters needs to learn what people want for our schools. Plan on attending this event. Bring your neighbors and share your ideas. The school band will entertain, refreshments will be served after the forum.
