Eugenia Lynne Haught, who was arrested as an accessory after the fact in connection with disposal of evidence in the recent breaking and entering and grand larceny at the Rappahannock Athletic Association’s buildings at Stuart Field, was sentenced Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Rappahannock General District Court.
The Rappahannock County SherifFs Office arrested Haught on Sept. 17 sifter finding items taken from the RAA buildings at her house. She was released on $2,500 bond pending trial.
Haught was convicted of aiding and abetting and sentenced to 12 months in jail, with 11 months and 22 days suspended. She was fined $100 and $50 court costs. It was agreed that she would be able to serve her jail time on weekends beginning Nov. 8 and on the weekends of Nov. 15, 22 and 29. She will also be monitored for good behavior by CDI as a special condition of her sentence.
The charges against Haught stemmed from an incident of arson, breaking and entering and larceny at Stuart Field in Amissville. David Paul McQuillan V, who has been sentenced in the case, and another juvenile, broke into, stole items from and lit fires in buildings at Stuart Field. They said the fires were stomped out but they re-ignited after the teenagers left.
