Peter Fonda stars as Ulysses “Ulee” Jackson, a quiet, taciturn beekeeper living in the tupelo marshes of north Florida. His son, Jimmy, is serving a long prison sentence for his part in a robbery, and Ulee is raising Jimmy’s young daughter, Penny, and her rebellious teenage sister, Casey, who have been deserted by their drug-addicted mother, Helen.
