Developmental screening set

The Rappahannock County Public School System is sponsoring a free developmental screening for children birth to 21 years of age from 1 to 3 p.m. from Nov. 17 to Nov. 26 at the elementary school.

Most children show regular signs of growth and development during the first five years. Children who do not meet these developmental milestones may need immediate or future special services. This is a chance for children to be checked for development in the areas of speech and language, general development, social skills and vision.

There is no charge to the parents for the screening. For more information call 987-8259 or go to the elementary school office between 1 and 3 p.m. on any day between Nov. 17 and 26, and ask for a screening. This screening is not designed to determine if a child is ready for kindergarten, that screening is scheduled for Spring, 1998.
