Strung out and menaced by Jimmy’s former partners in crime, Helen has revealed that Jimmy has an extra $100,000 from the robbery hidden away. The two hoodlums are holding Helen hostage and demanding that Ulee find the missing cash or risk further injury to his already broken family.
Director Victor Nunez, a first generation American and a graduate of the UCLA Film School, has never strayed far from his Florida roots. All of his feature films have been set in his home state, including his previous work, “Ruby in Paradise”, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. (Rated R, 111 minutes.)
